The Opportunity Door is developing a community-centered program to help address food insecurity in Washington, DC's Wards 7 and 8. The program will focus on helping residents explore practical ways to grow fresh food in and around their homes, prepare healthy and enjoyable meals, and connect with resources that support long-term health and food access.


This program is being developed for adults and families in Washington, DC, with an initial focus on residents of Wards 7 and 8 who are experiencing food insecurity or want practical ways to grow and prepare healthy food at home.
The Opportunity Door is currently seeking community feedback and exploring partnerships with residents, urban agriculture organizations, nutrition educators, food-access organizations, local businesses, funders, volunteers, and other community supporters.
